Cafeteria patrons have much higher expectations than patrons at traditional chain restaurants: things have to happen fast, be in line with the latest trends, meals need to be filling at reasonable prices and, what's especially important for today's generation, should be healthy and sustainably produced. And above all, meals must obviously be tasty. To ensure that the necessary ingredients are available in the right quantities at specific sites at all times, a large number of administrative and organizational processes are required for the procurement of goods.
The solution
To handle these processes efficiently, the company has successfully been using Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) for the procurement of goods for the past few years. To that effect, the company exchanges electronic article master data (PRICAT), orders (ORDERS) and despatch advices (DESADV) with numerous business partners.
"EDITEL's EDI services allow for the optimal organization of our procurement of goods processes. Our orders are processed as needed while being fully traceable. This also improves our collaboration with our business partners!" – DDr. Franz Haslauer, managing director
Integrated EDI solution for more efficient processes
As part of a switch to Delegate's ERP system, Österreichische Mensen has been using EDITEL's managed EDI service since 2020, which allows for even better and cleaner data integration. Österreichische Mensen delivery partners use both a traditional connection and the Web EDI solution by EDITEL. This ensures data exchange with all integrated business partners via a single connection as well as automated processing of all business information directly in the Delegate system.
